The last two days have been busy. Thursday started off kind of slow but I ran into Amy while dropping the boys off at school and she managed to talk me into going to the gym with her and Mel. Well 5 miles later I was pooped! I was so proud of myself though. I did 1 mile on the elliptical thing (I say it that way because it's different from a regular one), 3 miles on the bike, and then ran a mile. Then I worked on my abs a little and just a little bit of upper arm strength! I really enjoyed it. That was the first time I've been to the gym and did a real workout since before I had Logan. I've never been much for the whole working out thing but I surprised myself at how much I enjoyed it. So I went back today. I only did 4.5 miles today but I ran 1.5 of those, 2 on the bike, and 1 on the elliptical. I'm still thinking about doing the marathon but we will see how my endurance is at that point. I'm going to need a lot of work!
After the gym yesterday I came home and did some deep cleaning on my floors. After that I picked up the baskets for the single soldiers stuff and the grabbed the boys. We had homemade sub sandwiches and salad for dinner. The boys loved them. They both ate everything on their plate. That NEVER happens! After I tucked them in bed I sat in the floor and put eyelets in the signs for the guys that I've received. I've been trying to decide on the best way to hang them and I decided zip ties would be the easiest. So now that the eyelets are in place everything will be a piece of cake! Today I picked up some of the items for the guys baskets. Everything is coming together really well and I'm excited to get everything put in the rooms...and out of my garage! Next weekend will be even busier since we will actually be in the rooms decorating but just knowing that it's time to get these things together gives me such relief because the end of the deployment is almost here!
In more great news, it rained Wednesday night. It was the sweetest sound in the world to wake up Thursday morning to the pitter patter of rain drops on my window! It was still smokey yesterday but today has been so nice. Still a little cloudy and overcast but breathing in fresh air feels soooo good! I wouldn't mind if it rained a little more just to make sure all those fires are out!
Tonight we went over to Mel's so the kiddos could play. We fixed pizza with a little help from Papa Murphy's. Mr. Lane ate two whole pieces himself. Little piggy! The boys played so hard and were sound asleep before we even drove off post. So now they are all tucked in bed and I'm moving that way. Time to just relax. My body is already sore from my work out today so I can imagine tomorrow morning is going be rough! But headed back to the gym tomorrow. I'm so proud of myself!
Oh one more thing. Say a prayer for Aaron for me. He's in the process of getting things ready to move home and to be honest...this stuff bores him. He's so ready to just be home and this last month of course seems to be longer than the whole deployment itself. Poor guy said he's read about 4 military books in about a week. Not exactly exciting reading material I tell ya! All of these guys have worked so hard and now that home is just in sight...it feels just beyond their reach. God please give them the strength they need to press on just a few more weeks and most of all God, thank you for the protection you have given them during this whole time. Without your blessings, none of us could have made it through!
