Waiting for Aaron J....

It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo cold today. The temp on my computer read -51 all day. My body was just not created for this type of weather. I was meant for hot sun, beaches, and tanning oil!!!! All the things I have missed out on for so long! Man, I can't wait for a trip to the beach...better yet...a cruise! I can honestly say that if I never see snow again after leaving here I won't be upset. (Aaron hates it when I say that!) However I have gotten more used to it than I ever thought possible. I do a pretty good job driving in it which I was really worried about when moving here. Now, driving in it just makes me angry. I am so tired of my tires spinning when I try to go after the light turns green. I'm sick of wasting a half of a tank of gas because I have to let my car run for 20 minutes before I can drive it! And I'm sick of my tires freezing and making it feel like I have a flat tire when I go to drive it after it's sat out at work all day! Well sorry for the ranting...that was not my purpose of getting on here. Guess I needed to get that out though! I got to talk to Aaron on the computer this morning and he just got on for a few minutes a bit ago. He said he had to go do something and then he's suppose to get back on. Hopefully that works out. I love when he has MWR guard. I get to talk to him for long periods of time and sometimes I get to see him on the webcam. Last night was probably the best conversation we have had since he left. We both had our webcams on and the whole conversation was full of laughs. Anyone who has been around Aaron and I when we are together know that we constantly pick on each other and act incredibly goofy most of the time. Last night was nothing different. Even when I thought I couldn't miss him any more...I did. I hate wishing a whole year of my life away...but I can't help it. I just want him home!

The boys and I went to the PX and the Commissary today. It never fails, I put off going to the store when its at it's coldest. However, I guess I really prepared myself for the cold because it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I had on a few layer so about the only thing that was really cold was my face. You know it's cold when your nose hairs freeze!!!! Yeah, I know that's gross. Brookie knows what I'm talking about! Logan got to ride in his new booster...yes I ended up buying him a new one...those doors are still frozen solid! It must have been comfy cause he was sound asleep before we barely got out of our neighborhood. When we got home Logan wanted to play some games. The first game he called "the punching game." He said, "you know, like what I play with my Daddy!" Meaning he wanted us to punch each other. Well I guess I'm not as good as Daddy cause that didn't last long. Next he wanted to play hide and seek. So we did. He was a horrible hider. He would just lay down in the middle of the floor with his head covered. Guess he hasn't got that full concept yet! He was pretty good at the seek part. I hid a few places and he found me pretty quick. But once I hide in what I thought was pretty much plain sight and it took him a bit but he found me. Then I hid in one of the windows (we have deep set windows so I was sitting in the window sill) with the curtain over me. He looked and looked and then started to get scared. I called out to him not to cry and he started laughing. Finally he followed my voice and found me. I think Lane's teething is giving him a hard time right now. He has an awful runny nose and he felt warm earlier. He seems to be in a good mood though. I'm surprised that he's still awake. Normally he's in the bed no later than 8:30. He's got some built in clock or something! But tonight he's staying up with me and Logan. I doubt he will make it much longer.

Oh yeah, I made my first batch of marshmallow fondant. I haven't tried to use it yet but it's made and I think I did a good job. I'm going to try to decorate a cake tomorrow so we will see how that turns out. If I'm not too embarrassed by my creation I will take it to work for everyone. I've already told them that they were going to be getting all my practice cakes!
