The boys and I have had two very busy days. In fact I just opened my computer for the first time since Thursday night! Something that rarely ever happens!!! Yesterday Logan went to school and Lane and I came home and did a little cleaning. I'm having a Scentsy party on the 23rd and since I've had my fair share of Scentsy parties I'm kind of doing this one myself. The lady just brought the testers, catalogs, and order forms over. I'm excited. It's going to be a Scentsy party/birthday party for me! After Lane woke up from his nap we did some running around in town. My check engine light had come on so before we took it into the shop I decided I should jump Aaron's Explorer off in case we needed to leave my car at the shop. When the weather drops to -50 it kills the battery. So his battery has been dead for a while! I have to admit that I was a little nervous. I mean guys do it all the time so it can't be that hard!!!! LOL!!! Just kidding! But it has been 1o years since I have had to do it...and even then it was just because my Daddy told me that part of being a responsible driving was also knowing how to change a tire and jump my car off. Well I learn but thankfully I've never had to put my skills to work!!! But I did it. I was so proud. The Explorer now runs perfectly. When I took the Durango in they hooked it up and ran the check. Everything was fine. He explained what the code meant but he said not to worry about it. He reset everything and sent me on my way...free of charge!
Lane and I then went off to the commissary. Then we picked up Logan and headed home to get ready for our company. We were having a few friends over (Amy, the kiddos, and Susan) and we were firing up the grill for the first time this year and grilling some hot dogs. We had all been talking about chili dogs so we had to give into our cravings! It was delicious. I have to admit I'm a pretty good grill cook...even if it is just hot dogs!!! At least I got the thing lit! (We have a charcoal grill) The kids played and played. We eventually came inside and we girls got to chat and have some girl time. The little ones started getting really tired so everyone headed home around 10 and the boys and I headed off to bed.
We got up around 8 this morning and got ready for our day. The boys went to daycare...they offer free daycare to deployed spouses one Saturday a month. I've always missed the cut off day to sign them up but I finally got it this month. Today was the first complete OFF day I've had since Aaron left. I was almost lost as to what to do with myself. It was the post wide yard sale so I drove around trying to find anything worth looking at. Found nothing. I was bummed. I wasted too much time doing that. I ended up meeting up with Amy and having lunch at Taco Bell and then we headed to Walmart. I found a new bedspread that was at such a great price I couldn't pass it up. Bedding for a king size bed is NEVER cheap and this was really cheap! I know Aaron is saying why in the world do we need a new bedspread...but this one will be for spring/summer. It's blues and browns and I just like to change things up from time to time.
I headed off on my own again in search of a place to get a pedicure. Everywhere was full but I finally got one. It was nice and my toes look super cute. They were in need of pampering. By the time that was done it was almost time to get the boys so I picked them up a little early. It was really nice to "get away" but it was so nice to see their smiles too. They both had good days and Lane was being such a big boy when I picked him up. I asked him if he had a good day and he nodded yes. We headed home to a cookout the neighbors were having. Logan had a bunch of friends to play with and Lane messed with everything. We finally headed in around 9:30 after Logan fell on his arm (yes the broken collarbone). I swear I (and he) can't win! He is fine and his arm looks ok and he says it feels better now. He is so tired right now but is fighting with all he's got left to stay awake. Lane has already been sleeping but he woke up...of course right before Logan fell so I was stuck trying to comfort both screaming boys at the same time. He sat downstairs for a while and was just so whinny so I put in him bed. He's just not sleeping very soundly. I have a feeling both boys will end up in my bed tonight. Hopefully they will sleep late though...but that never happens when I need it too!!!!
