Relay for Life

This weekend was pretty busy. It was Relay for Life weekend. The boys and I had a great time. We went for a little while Friday night but with the rain and cold we left around 8. We went to Walmart and I bought stuff to make caramel apples. The theme this year was Carnival for a Cure so we needed some snacks to sell to raise more money. So I fixed up 30 caramel apples and took them back on Saturday. The boys and I got there at 8 and we stayed til it was over at 6. It was a lot of fun and the boys loved it. Logan got to play a lot of "carnival" games. He won lots of prizes. We also bid on a Stars Wars dress up chest in the silent auction. Logan was so excited and didn't quiet understand the process of the silent auction despite me trying to explain it. We only had to bid twice and thankfully we won. Now he has two storm trooper costumes to play in. The outfits are huge on him but he loves them just the same. Our team...Blackhawk Babes...raised over $6,000 and we won best tent. Our tent was awesome. It was a merry-go-round. Our horses turned out beautiful and each one stood for a different type of cancer. When we got home Saturday night we were all exhausted. We ate dinner and then headed upstairs for baths. Lane had dirt all over him...even in his diaper! We were all in bed and fast asleep before Aaron called at 10:30. I vaguely remember the conversation. Babe...if I sounded out of it...I'm sorry...I was trying to wake up but I was so tired!

One thing I have to share...Saturday morning I got up before the boys. Lane had woke up during the night and I put him in my bed but he was sleeping soundly when I got out of bed. So I take everything out to the car and when I walked back in I had to do a double take. There was Lane standing DOWNSTAIRS just grinning at me. He had gotten out of my bed and came downstairs all by himself. Something his brother doesn't even do all the time. Logan would wake up and call for me until I got him out of bed...even after he was big enough to get out himself. He's only just started getting up by himself. Lane however just helped himself. Logan was upstairs in his bed but Lane just trotted right downstairs. I was shocked. But so glad he made it down safely. Now he's a pro on the stairs...and he just laughs and laughs!

Today we got up...all to early...and headed off to church. After church we headed home for naps. Lane ended up sleeping so late that I had to wake him up to eat dinner. Then we went outside for a bit before we came in to get ready for bed. Now the boys are in bed and I'm about to have come cookie cake and then off to bed myself. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Some pictures of our tent...

Lane playing in the sand and Logan about to pop a balloon.

Logan with his new Star Wars toy and then fishing in one of the games.

Lane was so tired...just didn't look to comfortable. Logan is munching on a caramel apple.

They fell asleep while we were in the Carl's Jr drive thru...I wondered why it got so quiet back there!!!!

Showing off Aaron's BDU Recon hat. He fixed this one up for me last year for Relay for Life so since we wore the same outfits again...I had to wear this one.
