Our day began with a phone call from Aaron. He had actually called at 8:30 but we were all still soundly sleeping! Shocking I know! Of course to Aaron waking up at 8:30 is just like wasting a whole day in the bed. I mean so much can be done before 8:30 you know!!! Hahaha! Just picking on you! We chatted for a while and he talked with both of the boys. Of course he had to go all to soon.
I then fixed breakfast for all of us and then the boys were off playing. I started going through all the mail that has been piling up for about 6 months. I finally got it all sorted out. I got a card ready to mail my Grandmother and put the camera case I bought my mom in an envelope to send her. Speaking of that...Mom had been saying how she never carried her new camera anywhere because she didn't want to get it scratched so I told her we would look for a case. Well I found one on ebay that is made just for her camera and I won the bid for $.01. Yes I bought my Mom a camera case for a penny!!! I love bargain shopping. Shipping was 3.99 so technically I paid $4 for it. Now I just have to find the time to get to the post office! Wish me luck with that.
When Lane went down for his nap I pulled out the Sunday School lesson I had prepared for Logan. Since I haven't been able to find a church that I was happy with then I figured I would just bring church to our house. I had put together a lesson about "creation." I figured it best to start from the beginning and teach Logan about how God made everything in just 6 days. Well I started the lesson off with some basic questions that I'm sure he's asked me in the past. But hearing his answers were great. Kids are so creative...instead of saying "I don't know," he had an answer for everything. Here are a few:
Q: Why is the sky blue?
A: Because it's colored that way
Q: Where do babies come from? (I was a little scared to ask that one!!!)
A: From the baby store! (He said pretty matter-a-factly)
Q: Why do dogs bark?
A: Because they need to go out to use the bathroom.
I had printed out some coloring sheets that told what God did each day so as he colored I read the Genesis story to him. He was very inquisitive about it all. I would go back every so often and ask what God did on the first day and then the second day and so on. By the end of our lesson he remember what God did all 7 days. He got the first 3 days colored before his attention span ran out but he says he wants to finished the rest tomorrow and then he wants to send them to Daddy. I was really proud of him and we had fun learning about the Bible together.
After all the sorting down stairs I got courageous. I was going to clean the playroom! I did it. I finally got it all organize. I got rid of some toys...something I've been wanting to do for a while. I even convenience Logan that this was the best thing to do. Finally after living here for almost a year I hung up the little mesh holder thing that lets you hang the stuff animals from the ceiling. (I have no idea what that is called!) The room still looks cluttered but for the amount of toys we have with the amount of space there is there is no getting around that. To finish it off I put in the chair that my friend Angela's son gave to Logan. It's this really cute, Logan sized rocking chair. Logan loves it and it's perfect for him to sit in and watch his new TV. And now that the playroom is clean he is more willing to go in there!
Next I went next door and started cleaning out the closets in the boys room. I went through a lot of their clothes the other day but I still had more to do and I had to hang up the new clothes. I had literally saved ALL of Logan's old clothes so Lane has a lot to choose from. But I've noticed that as I have pulled the old clothes out I've not wanted to dress Lane in even half of them. I guess partly because styles have changed a little but mostly because I don't want Lane to be stuck wearing all hand-me-downs. I know that Lane wouldn't care but I strongly believe in making everything equal for the boys. I don't want one to feel he got more or less than the other. So tonight I went through all of the old clothes and picked out my favorites and kept those and got rid of the rest. Believe me though...there are still A LOT left! So now I have 5 HUGE boxes of little boys clothes ranging from sizes 3T down. So if anyone needs some let me know. I tossed the stuff that had stains so it's all really good stuff. You know you really accumulate a lot more stuff than you realize.
At 8:30 on the dot I laid both the boys down and tucked them in bed. Lane was out before I left the room I believe! Logan just called me back up to help him blow his nose but I would bet you he's already out by now too. I'm off to shower and get myself ready for tomorrow. 26 weeks down!!!!!!
